We included Riding Van 89 in the restoration updates for the first time with the main article on the first part of a Summer Saturday in the West. There was a tribute to Martyn Madeley, a long-standing volunteer.

The testing of Bow-ended Collett Composite 6045 was reported following completion. The main article was taken from Patrick Dalton’s Cambrian memories with a run detailed for the Aberystwyth to Carmarthen line on 30th June 1962 behind 7312. 7325’s climb up the Lickey is on the cover.

The main feature was the accident at midnight on 17th July 1936 at Stourbridge North where a freight train pulled by mogul 8332 was involved. Our occasional article on mogul sightings recorded those of 9301/7323.
